Ginger Corbett

Name: Ginger Corbett

Style of work: Still life, landscapes, People

Short Bio: During a long career associated with the film industry, Ginger has studied painting regularly at the Putney School of Art, under tutors Michael Lancod and Michael Ellis and developed her technique in her spare time. She always had an interest in design and architecture, but painting has gradually become her major serious and rewarding interest. In recent years she had the opportunity to spend concentrated periods in Cape Town, South Africa where she had the time - and also found great inspiration - to evolve her work and produce paintings and prints, developing and working on them further when back in London.

The portrait is her preferred 'landscape', she responds to people and loves to observe the character of faces both young and old. She enjoys working in black and white as well as colour, it all depends on the image and how it might enhance the portrayal of the person she is painting.
